The Olympic Games in Stockholm took place in 1912 and were the fifth modern Summer Olympic Games.

Soon after the previous Games in 1908, the Swedish authorities petitioned the Olympic Committee for the right to hold the 1912 event with plenty of local backing and an agreement with the Germans who would seek to host the Games in 1916 instead. After an assurance to the Committee that there would not be a repeat of the last minute change for the 1908 Games, and with no other applications the Swedish bid was accepted.
